The first post of the week is about “knitting houses” (ala Harry Potter). I had a hard time choosing between the Bee and the Manatee, so I’m going with “Manabee.” I don’t feel attached to Monkey or Peacock.
“Bees are busy and industrious, but can flit from one interesting project to the next as bright and shiny things capture their interest.” I think I can be pretty industrious (like last January/February’s hat and cowl production line, or the 475647659283 garterlac washcloths I’ve made), but I do sometimes get distracted or just plain bored with what I’m making and flit away to something more interesting.
“Manatees are gentle, calm and cuddly. Relaxed and unflashy they represent the comfort and soft side of knitting and crochet.” I like cuddly things, like socks and baby sweaters. I make mug cozies to help keep my tea warm.
This talk of houses reminds me that I have to decide if I’m going to participate in the Summer Term of the Harry Potter Knit/Crochet House Cup over at Ravelry. I’ve been a Hufflepuff there since my first term.
Which house best describes you?
