5KCBWDAY1 A Day In The Life
Describe a day in the life of a project that you have made, or are in the process of making.
We are Amey’s mug cozies*. We started as the leftover bits of sock yarn and were transformed thru the miracle of 1×1 ribbing into something functional (rather than just random balls stuck in a big plastic bag). We’re all pullovers because Amey is too lazy to deal with buttons.
We get left on tables, often overnight. Look – there are STILL boxes out in the house.
Those of us in the “inactive reserve” pile are dumped together in a basket near the tea kettle. Oh, and we have to share space with the box of straws, and the cozies for the tea pot. It’s a little crowded. Thank goodness we’re all pretty light.
When we get dirty, she throws us in this depressing mound with other filthy things to wait our turn for cleaning. Look at the state of that laundry basket! On the plus side, there are usually several of us in there together, so we can have chat. Depending on the state of the napkins and placemats, we can also have a snack!
*That’s pronounced like cozy – the way you feel snuggled up on the couch with a good book and a warm drink. It’s not “coozie” to rhyme with “ooze” like the stuff that comes out of aliens. I don’t know when that pronunciation came into being, but it should be banned. Who wants to wrap their drink in alien slime??
Note: I had started out wanting this to be more like an homage to I Am Joe’s Body – that series from Reader’s Digest back in the 80s which was then an element in Fight Club (they used “Jack” instead of “Joe” in the movie) and didn’t stick with body parts. You can see a gif thing of those here.
