Yarn Along 2014: Week 22

I had breakfast on the patio again this morning.   Because I drove Thing 2 to school this morning, we got to sleep in an extra half hour.  By the time I got home it was nearly 7:30am and I had a moment of thinking “whoa!  it’s late!” and then thought “holy crow – it’s a little nuts that I think 7:30 is ‘late’.”    I took some chai out back, along with my current book (still The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton), paper for a grocery list, and my knitting.  Once the list was done, I put in a few more rows on the cabled blanket I’m making for my cousin’s wedding.

DSC_0001 DSC_0002It’s a 28 stitch, 64 row cable.  I find each row to be easily remembered, so once I’ve done one or two of the 5 repeats I no longer have to look at the pattern.  I counted the days I have until I leave for the wedding and then how many rows I’d need to knit per day.  To have it done by the time I leave I need to knit 10 rows per day.  There are 180 stitches per row.  I’m still feeling hopefully.  Delusional, but hopeful.

I’m joining up with Ginny’s Yarn Along.  Go check it out.  She has a lovely blog, and the Yarn Alongers read some great books.

  1. It lovely! I’ve been delusional many a time, good luck!

  2. Yes – I’ve been delusional but hopeful too! I think it’s a good quality – keeps us permanently optimistic about life 🙂 Your cabling is beautiful! And isn’t Kate Morton great! She’s from my hometown and when I read her descriptions of the same streets and houses we’ve walked along, oh I can feel the sun on my arms, see the green of the trees and imagine the humidity and buzzing of cicadas – perfect!

It is a beautiful blanket. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you finish it in time. Happy knitting.
