Who am I?

Thanks for stopping by!

I’d like to say that I’m 32 flavors and then some, but since I’m not a cannibal, I can’t really say that with any honesty.

I am a homeschooling parent to two active boys, a hockey cheerleader, a wife to a super-amazing fella, a knitter, and kind of short.  I like to bake.  I do not like cleaning.   I come from solid English stock and have a dry sense of humor.  Please don’t hesitate to ask if I’m joking about something – I probably am.  I am a comma sprinkler, a Stephen King fan, a “chick lit” reader, and a tea drinker.  I generally eschew caffeine.   I don’t have a favorite number, the word “moist” doesn’t bother me, and I live with a very loud cat.  I don’t like tomatoes or cold cheese, I like to say “tuna fish” because it makes DH nutty, and I occasionally threaten to sell my children to the gypsies (I’m hoping they’re worth a hot tub).  I live in the desert and miss the northeast, I love rainy days and autumn, I wear handknit socks and blue jeans.  I keep finding stash I forgot to list on ravelry, I don’t know WHAT I’m going to do with all this red cotton-ease, and I consider myself agnostic (or maybe a secular humanist?).    I used to be a Girl Scout, I sing camp songs to babies, and am more a night owl than morning person.

I should probably see if that’s 32 things, but I’m also lazy and don’t want to go back and count.  You can email me at   ameyknits AT gmail DOT com as long as you don’t want to tell me about an exciting new business opportunity.

  1. Hey, I was trying to mail you but can’t seem to find your address. I just wanted to say you might want to delete the About page or fill it as it has just the example text (but me, being very curious and always love to read about pages I would personally recommend you fill it just because I’m curious who you are…) 🙂

  2. Heather says:

    Love this. and you.
